Amani Washington is a visual artist based in Los Angeles. Who is known for her jazz-infused aesthetic. She is the sister of Kamasi Washington; a jazz saxophonist and bandleader and has collaborated with him on several projects, including 6 artwork paintings for his EP "Harmony of Difference" and a video piece created for the Whitney Biennial in 2017. She has Painted album covers for Terrece Martin w/ super group (Robert Glasper, 9th Wonder and Kamasi W) "Dinner Party" and "Enigmatic." In her multi-disciplinary work she uses oil, acrylic, pastel and paper collage on canvas. Amani overall likes to keep the movement of the painting process simple and true her form. Amani loves to explore her visual ideas by being spontaous with line and color. She decribes her choice of subject matter as "always kin to myself and my experience as a Black woman and visual artist.
